The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse II regulation will be effective on November 18, 2024. The second Clearinghouse final rule supports the agency’s goal of ensuring only qualified drivers are eligible to obtain and retain a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
CTA will host Eugene Kawahata, FMCSA Specialist, for this important educational opportunity to learn more about how the regulations will affect commercial vehicle drivers, CDLs and CLPs.
Starting November 18, 2024, the California Department of Motor Vehicles must downgrade a driver’s license by removing the commercial driving privilege when the driver has a status of “prohibited” in the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Under current regulations, the CA DMV may voluntarily query the Clearinghouse to determine if a CDL or CLP holder is prohibited from operating a CMV.
Join us for an opportunity to learn more about FMCSA’s initiative to ensure only qualified drivers operate on California’s road.
